Sorry Day, May the Twenty-Sixth,
Sorry Day is an national Australian Event where The Government and most Aussies, Says Sorry To all aborigines for the stolen generations. The stolen Generations Happened Between 1910 and 1970, and at least 100,000 aborigine children got taken away by police and welfare officers.
Imagine This, having your children taken away from you, by a different race, and being forced to act like that different race and then being in foster homes OF that different race. You would NEVER be the same again. Now imagine BEING the child, not knowing who you are, where your real family are, HAVING TO CHANGE YOUR RELIGION and having to be the odd one out in your "family".
Now, imagine being the welfare officer, that is what some peoples ancestors are. now there's a lot of imagining going on here but now imagine if this happened TODAY. pretty bad right? the good thing is it stopped in 1970.
the reason WE should be sorry is because some peoples ancestors stole and took these kids. WE should be sorry about the kids who never saw their real parents again. and WE should be for their parents.
